City Munchies: STEK Amsterdam

You probably already know that if you’re in search of some decent Sunday brunch, the Wibautstraat in Amsterdam will not fail to leave you satisfied. Among all the super popular restaurants like Volkshotel, the Pool and Restaurant C, there’s actually a little hidden gem that should not be overlooked. Ladies and gentlemen, meet STEK Amsterdam.

Why You Should Visit STEK Amsterdam

Let’s start by repeating that the Wibautstraat is full of culinary surprises. One might say that STEK is one of the lesser known ones, but that’s only a good thing, since less known means less crowded. Can you imagine yourself sitting in the rustic ambiance of the restaurant while indulging in delicious healthy dishes and perhaps sin a little with a signature bloody merry and / or GT? I know I can.

One of STEK’s daily specials: sandwich with smoked mackerel and beets…

Apart from some pretty good drinks, their menu will not let you down either. I mean, who can resist an all-day-breakfast? I promise you a great variety of eggs and sandwiches alike. Off-menu the foodfest goes on, so take a good look around to make sure you don’t miss the daily specials. Another big pro: their always sunny (except from when it’s raining) cute little terrace! Doesn’t this sound like the ultimate Sunday brunch experience?

For the meat lovers: The STEK (no pun) Tartare with poached egg yolk is to die for.

For the tourists: Burn the calories you just gained with a nice long walk at the Amstel, Amsterdam’s most famous canal.
